而這也提醒了我HTML5的重要性，現今所使用的HTML標準已經很久沒有更新了，有很多新的技術在HTML5上都可以實作，其中Video的功能相當方便，能在瀏覽器中直接嵌入影片檔案並進行播放，而不用依靠Flash，支援的瀏覽器目前有Firefox 3.6、Safari 4以及Google Chrome等，YouTube也有HTML5影片的實驗，你可以去YouTube網站啟用HTML5影片，接著當你瀏覽大多數的影片時，影片就自動以HTML5格式播放，其實也都沒有什麼問題，雖然仍有一些功能無法提供，如影片中的廣告。

就長遠來看，HTML5也許有機會成為標準，提供網頁開發者簡單且標準的方式呈現網頁內容，學習一套東西就能呈現多元的內容這的確相當具有吸引力，但在這之前，我想我還是比較關心Adobe準備推出的10.1版Flash是否能順利的在iPad、iPhone上執行，畢竟連Android、blackberry都可以執行，為何iPhone不行呢？

這個服務其實概念相當簡單，透過手機上的定位模組（如GPS或者WiFi等定位技術）取得經緯度座標後上傳到Google Latitude，搭配Gmail裡的聯絡人就能夠分享給你的朋友了，不過之前的Google Friend Connect還未開通。當然，隱私權的問題仍然存在，Google讓你有相當程度的控制，甚至給個假的座標都行（唉，這年頭還得這樣提防朋友 Orz…），Google設想的真周到呢。

操作很簡單，只要用手機連上http://www.google.com/latitude/就行啦，這是一個獨立的手機軟體，目前可運行在Windows Mobile及黑莓機等，Google 自家的手機Andriod也將在一週內推出，iPhone上的程式也會緊接著補上，看來Google對於這樣的服務相當的看重。除了手機之外，亦能在iGoogle上加入Google Latitude來觀看朋友的所在位置，只是很可惜，台灣目前仍處於”不支援”的區域，台灣地區已有支援。

主要的功能除了知道朋友的位置外，還具有短訊服務或者直接打電話，Google在官方網站上寫道：

• See where your friends are and what they are up to
• Quickly contact them with SMS, IM, or a phone call
• Maintain complete control over your privacy

地圖應用一直是筆者很關注的議題，因為筆者認為地圖應用除了目前熟知的地圖日記、Google Map等，市場上應還有空間容納新的應用，而這個Google Latitude已經朝向這個方向發展，有興趣的人可以看看下面這段Google的介紹短片。
